Mostly Huge Fish

Kelsey's "Keeper Splake". So G-man how many times did we hear he caught a keeper splake? 50, 150, 1000? Actually, it's a pretty nice 12.01 inch keeper. It would be small of me to mention my three splake totalled nearly 25 inches of fish. That's more than two feet!

Ready for anything, really.

Holy shit, now that's a big ass fish! I was able to catch this beauty on an ultra light rig, (a pole that would, in actual fact, be broken with 48 hours, scary), 4 lb test line, no steel leader and a really sore shoulder. If Hemingway were alive, that is to say not turned a 12 gauge on himself, the stupid frig, well let's just say seeing this fish he'd have been inspired to something really, really important. Maybe change the world, who knows...

O.K., for the record I did alter this image just a bit. Nothing to confuse the real issue which is that I did actually catch this monstrous pike, with barely little help from Kelsey, he had a net or some such thing. I did, for instance, change the lighting but only to correct the mood and enhance the image. But, in no way did that alter the fact that this was the first pike caught and that all subsequent large pike landed came after this beauty. So Kelsey, G-man, "you're welcome, glad to help, always willing to shine some light on what can be, to encourage you both to think larger than you were". Seriously, don't mention it, I know following just can't feel the same as leading.

Is that a footprint I see on the "keeper" Splake?
